I love that the weather has turned a bit nasty here in Sydney - why? Because it is perfect crafting weather!
I am keeping an art journal with my wonderful daughter Alisa, who has just become a mum :)
We are taking turns of having the journal and doing pages and then passing it on, for me this is wonderful as Alisa inspires me so much. And it is great to be able to get this perspective on each others lives.
This was the page I did on Good Friday, if it had to have a title then I think I would call it Family tapestry. I had a vague notion in my head of how things interconnect in our family life, the underpinning of it all and then the layers that seem to creep up on us.
So I started with a pencil grid, and then of course reached for the glimmermist and masks
Next came whatever scrap paper was on my craft table at the time.
then stamps and watercolour pencils, random words and a title of sorts "today is blessed"
building on the grid I added water colour pastels and chalk pastels, journaling in some of the grid
And then to finish off two of my favourite things at the moment, birds and lace
All in all I was happy with it. I think that is the great thing about an art journal, it really is a great way to play and then not judge what you have done :)
I have also been busy with upcoming classes, here is a sneak peek at one of our upcoming classes.......
We are also having Sherry Mendoza, who is the education co ordinator for Prima, teaching a Prima layout for us on Wednesday 25th of May at Acacia Gardens, there are limited places still available, cost of class and kit is $46.35. To book your place please contact me here.
Finally I want to give a shout out to a dear friend of mine who has been going through some difficulties of late. She now has her mojo back and is in full swing with her creativiness going into overdrive.
You may remember this post that I did about our day at the Melbourne Cup 2010....
Well PeaBee took these photos, the March Embellishment pack, Heidi Swapp papers and sticker and turned out this stunning layout:
How silly we were being, what a great time we had, and I love that we have the photos to remind us :)
Here is a hint for who our next Whos who person is, she unlocks the artists within......
Till next time
Hugs
