Truly Blooming!

My daughter is expecting her first baby and it is so exciting. She is loving being pregnant, but not so much loving the heat. However she is just blooming.

And the bloom about her inspired this layout that I taught. Simply titled bloom, it is an elegant mix combining the great new products from Pink Paislee and the House of 3 with existing papers from Pink Paislee.

I just love the colours in this layout, very geometric with circles and squares. And yet pretty and soft :)

A little bit of whimsy

This was such a fun little project. I actually made it thinking of Melbourne Cup but as the day was windy and wet I did not wear it then, who knows about the future....

It is made from the new Graphic 45 range, Hallowe'en in Wonderland.
A great range of papers and tags full of whimsy and colour with the lovely Heritage twist that is so Graphic 45! We have put a template on the site so that you can make one of your very own!

This is truly crazy formatting going on, on this blog now :(
 so hugs till next time

Active Living Expo

Joyful Scraps has asked to take part in the Active Living Expo at Castle Hill Library. It is looking like it will be a day of great treats and even author talks. Did you know they have a fantastic cafe right in the library. Good food Good books, what more could you want? oh yes scrapbooking!

we have that covered as well,  PeaBee and I will be there all day and would love for you to call in and do a make and take with us.

It should be heaps of fun!

And to leave you with a chuckle this is what happens when you let scrapbookers go to the races and provide them with a photo booth......

Cupcakes and paint - both are messy

We have a great range of different paint mediums in stock at Joyful Scraps. Every thing from Tattered Angels Gimmer mists to Viva Decor Terra Paint and everything in between.

I like paint. I always have, the messier the better as far as I am concerned but I do know that other people are not so keen on messy hands, thats why we also stock paint dabbers. Great product with no mess!

Really it doesnt matter what medium you use as long as you get crafting!

So if that covers the mess of the paint, whats this about cupcakes? I hear you ask.....
Themed cupcakes sounds like such a great idea, doesnt it? easy and fun - or so I thought.

In honour of my eldest grandsons third birthday , they are suppose to be cookie monster and tigers. (the tigers look more like rodents and yet they were all eaten up).

I am sharing these in the interest of honesty and to show you why I scrapbook and not decorate cakes for a living LOL!  The funny thing is that they will look great on a layout - the photos of them that is ;0)

So how was your weekend?

Todays post is a bit more bizarre than usual, even for me LOL!

These are a few of the photos I took on Thursday as Sam and I explored Wild Life World at Darling Harbour. Lots of great things to see and do there and I was really happy with these photos.......

Then I took them up to Rob's place and he showed me how to do HDR. Love it, Love the detail and colour am so getting this software.

So just what will I do with photos of lizards??? I guess a layout is in order, in the mean time they can live here on my blog ;0)

Check out Rob's site Photography Hotspots for great ideas and inspiration!

The best thing about holidays

I love going on holidays, the excitement, the packing, the arrival, getting to find new places and get re acquainted with old ones. But sometimes there is nothing better than coming home again.

While away I did manage to get a few scrapbook projects done, as soon as I can dig out the camera will take a photo of a couple that I can share. One I cant share just yet is a full 12x12 20 page holiday / travel scrapbook album, I will be teaching it on Wednesday the 13th October and we only have one spot left! Did you want to do the class? just email me, but be quick..... Anyway the album is to die for and takes so many photos all 4x6 so no trimming at all and I am so pleased with the way it came together :)

Thought I would share with you a photo of the view we had from our balcony....

As you can imagine this was hard to take, I mean a hard day of walking on the beach or biking in the reserves or tobogganing and all to come back to this view with a glass of wine - well anyway we are home now and right about now with the laundry overflowing with washing, Im kinda missing the view kwim.

But to keep your creative juices flowing have a look at PeaBee's blog that gorgeous bride is my very own daughter, and what about those fantastic Green Tara embellishments.

The washing is calling my name

Incredible, amazing and intricate...

Some people are just too clever for words! I really love the quirky and talented nature of this artist...
His name is Dalton Ghetti and he takes the ordinary everyday pencil

and turns it into something quite extraordinary!

this one is my favourite

You can see more of his work here.

Hope you have a bit of extraordinary in your life today!
